Overview
NVIDIA® native ESXi drivers deliver high-performance, efficient networking for VMware vSphere environments by leveraging advanced hardware offloads available on NVIDIA® networking adapters. These drivers help provide near bare-metal performance in virtualized environments by reducing CPU overhead and accelerating data movement through capabilities such as RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
With NVIDIA® ConnectX®-4 and later adapters, ESXi 6.5 and later supports a broad range of Ethernet speeds, including 10, 25, 40, 50, 100, and 200GbE. This enables high-throughput connectivity for demanding workloads such as virtualization, storage, cloud infrastructure, AI, and high-performance computing.
By combining native ESXi driver support with NVIDIA hardware acceleration, VMware vSphere deployments can achieve improved network efficiency, lower latency, and higher bandwidth utilization while maintaining compatibility with standard ESXi networking and management workflows.
