Dashboard

Dashboards let you view metrics, anomalies, topology, and incidents from across the cluster in one place. Use the built-in dashboards designed for AI factories, or create custom dashboards to check system health, triage issues, and perform root-cause analysis for the entire cluster or specific cross-sections.

Admins and Editors can create, change, and save dashboards. Viewers can open dashboards and change filters, but can't save changes.

Dashboard Page Layout

Dashboard page with the dashboard name, dashboard controls, filters, and widgets
  • Dashboard Name: select a dashboard. A lock icon marks a locked dashboard, such as a preconfigured dashboard, and a crossed-out eye marks a private one.

  • Dashboard controls: create, save, remove, and more actions. See Manage Dashboards.

  • Edit Layout Edit Layout: move, resize, and remove widgets, and manage sections. See Arrange Widgets and Sections.

  • Settings Settings: dashboard settings. See Dashboard Settings.

  • Embed Dashboard Embed Dashboard: embed the dashboard in another website. See Embed a Dashboard.

  • Filters: filters and a time range that apply to every widget. See Filter a Dashboard.

  • Widgets: the views shown on the dashboard. See Add Widgets.

Create a Dashboard

  1. Go to the Dashboard tab.

  2. Click Create Create. The new dashboard starts as a copy of the current dashboard, including its widgets, sections, filters, and time range.

  3. Enter a View Name and click OK. The dashboard is private. To make it visible to all users in your tenant, select Publish (visible to all users). Dashboard names must be unique.

  4. Remove any widgets you don't need, and add the ones you do. See Add Widgets.

  5. Click Save Save.

Changes to widgets, filters, the time range, and settings aren't kept until you click Save.

Add Widgets

To add a widget from the dashboard, click + (Add widget) after the Widgets list, select a widget type (anomaly, description, incidents, topology, or trends), and then select a view. The widget is added at the bottom of the first section. To remove a widget, clear its view in the same list, or use Edit Layout. Then click Save.

To add a view from its own page, open the view in Trends, Topology, Anomalies, or Incidents, and click Add to dashboard in the View panel. Select the dashboard and, for Trends, the widget type: the full view, the current chart, Top Talkers, or Counter. Then click OK. The widget is saved to the dashboard right away, in the first section. A dashboard can show each view only once.

Description Widgets

A description widget adds Markdown text, for example labels, section headers, or links. Links in a description open in a new browser tab.

  1. Click + next to Widgets and select description.

  2. Enter the text. To insert a link to this NVIDIA Minerva deployment, use {{.domainUrl}}.

  3. Click Save.

Descriptions appear as one Description item under Widgets. To edit, copy, or delete a description, click that item and use the icons next to it.

Filter a Dashboard

Click + next to Filters, and select a dimension or time.

  • Dimension filters apply to every widget and are combined with each widget's own view filters, so a widget shows only data that matches both. If a widget's view filters a dimension to one value and the dashboard filter selects a different value of the same dimension, that widget shows no data. To choose which dimensions appear in this list, see Dashboard Settings.

  • Time: by default, each widget uses its own view's time range. If you set a dashboard time range, it replaces every widget's time range. To go back to each widget's own time range, remove the time filter.

To keep filters and the time range with the dashboard, click Save.

Widget Controls

Each widget has these controls in its header:

  • Expand: open the widget in a larger window over the dashboard.

  • Full View: open the view on its own page in a new browser tab, with the dashboard's filters and time range.

  • Settings: change the Widget Type (for a Trends widget: the full view, the chart, Top Talkers, or Counter), or add a Description, which appears as an info icon next to the title. Markdown is supported. Click OK.

  • Edit Title: hover over the title, click the pencil, enter the new title, and click OK. This control isn't available in Edit Layout.

Then click Save to keep the changes.

Arrange Widgets and Sections

Click Edit Layout Edit Layout. The toolbar changes to Manage Sections, Cancel, and Save Layout.

  • Resize: drag the lower-right corner of a widget.

  • Move: drag the widget to a new position.

  • Remove: click Remove Remove in the upper-right corner of the widget.

Click Save Layout to save the dashboard, or Cancel to discard all changes made in Edit Layout.

Organize a Dashboard into Sections

Dashboard widgets are grouped into sections. Click a section's header to collapse or expand it. The change lasts until you reload the page or open another dashboard. To keep it, click Save, or Save Layout in Edit Layout. The saved state applies to everyone who opens the dashboard. Reports always show every section expanded.

To add, rename, reorder, or delete sections, or to move widgets between them:

  1. Click Edit Layout, and then click Manage Sections.

  2. In the Dashboard sections panel, make your changes. When you delete a section, its widgets move to the first remaining section. A dashboard always has at least one section. To add widgets to a section, click Add widgets here under it.

  3. Click Save Layout.

Delete the dashboard. This can't be undone.

Create Create

Create a dashboard. See Create a Dashboard.

More Actions More Actions

Import a dashboard from a JSON file, Export this dashboard as a JSON file, see its History, Publish it to all users, Generate Report, or Share a link.

Locked dashboards, such as the preconfigured dashboards, don't have Save, Remove, or Publish. To change one, create a copy with Create Create.

Import and Export in More Actions handle one dashboard at a time. To import the dashboard sets in the Reference Configuration Package, see Import Dashboards.

Generate Report downloads a PDF of the dashboard, with every section expanded.

Share a Dashboard

  1. Click More Actions More Actions and select Share.

  2. If the dashboard has filters or a time range, they're listed under Include filters, including changes you haven't saved. Clear any you don't want in the link. URL preview shows the link.

  3. Click Copy & Close.

When someone opens the link, the filters in it are applied on top of the saved dashboard. They need access to the dashboard: a private dashboard can't be opened by other users.

Dashboard Settings

Click Settings Settings, change the settings, and then click Save:

  • Compact Layout: On (the default) moves widgets up to remove empty space. Off keeps widgets where you place them.

  • Widgets Auto Update, seconds: how often widgets refresh, from 1 to 86400 seconds. Leave it empty to use each view's own setting.

  • Default View: shows whether this is the default dashboard, which opens when you go to the Dashboard tab. To change it, see Default Views.

  • Dimensions: the dimensions available under Filters, for example rack, deviceName, or groupAz.

Embed a Dashboard

Click Embed Dashboard Embed Dashboard to download an HTML file, widget.html, that shows the dashboard on another website. The file must be served over HTTP or HTTPS. Private dashboards can't be embedded; publish the dashboard first.

  • Widget Controls: Off hides each widget's settings and full-screen controls.

  • Anomaly Controls: Off hides anomaly widget view controls.

  • Size: the width, in pixels or percent, and the height, in pixels.

  • Allowed Hosts: a space-separated list of websites that can show the dashboard. This list applies to every dashboard. Only Platform Admins can change it.

Click Download HTML, or Save & Download if you changed Allowed Hosts.

An embedded dashboard has read-only access to its tenant but is not restricted to the data its widgets display. Users can run custom queries to access other data in the same tenant. Per-widget access controls aren't available.
